How many times, did we the Indians, just sit back and stare with horrid gasps, at the TV clips of democracy being murdered? How many times, did we want to kill the goddamn goons, for tarnishing the image of our nation? And how many times more will we just shut up and watch!?
Back in the 70's, when the Emergency was imposed, a leading newspaper had a weird entrant in the obituary column, DEMOCRACY and now again, the attack of SHIV SENA on the fourth estate- The PRESS, is death of democracy. The freaking politicos, will just sit by and make statements and let this phase pass. But for how long? Its so bloody frustrating to see our nation die a fatal death, every day!
We have let the people take control of our lives. People, who do not know us. People, who do not know our needs. People, who barely qualify as Indians.
We have to pose a united front! AND EVERY UNITED FRONT HAS A SYMBOLON! And I will give us one. Its a symbol we would have used atleast ones and if we have not, it is time to use it!
I give us the finger. The middle finger. Its a simple long digit of our hand, that raises a question, that brings about an uprising. An uprising of the people in a democracy. The finger is the ultimate form of protest. It does not signify lewdness- on the contrary, it objects to the lewdness of the political bosses. It reminds them that in a democracy, we are the bosses.
Shiv Sena! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU in the face. Bal Thackrey! FUCK U HARDER!
Its time to say this to all of the people who forget the contract we signed as citizens of India, the contract of the Constitution. This is US! WE THE PEOPLE!
